A pause for reflection.

Below you will find some pearls of wisdom that may give you pause for reflection. I have given credit where credit is due but some of these snippets of wisdom are of unknown origin.

The Wrecker

  1. I watched them tearing a building down
  2. A gang of men in a busy town
  3. With a ho-heave-ho and a lusty yell
  4. They swung a beam and the side wall fell.
  5. I asked the foreman,"Are these men skilled,
  6. The men you'd hire if you had to build?"
  7. He gave a laugh and said,"no indeed,
  8. Just common labor is all I need.
  9. I can easily wreck in a day or two
  10. What builders have taken a year to do".
  11. I thought to myself as I went my way,
  12. Which of these roles have I tried to play?
  13. Am I a builder who works with care,
  14. Measuring life by the rule and square?
  15. Am I shaping my deeds to a well made plan
  16. and patiently doing the best I can?
  17. Or am I a wrecker, who walks the town
  18. content with the labor of tearing down?

  6. A strength in your utmost need,
